For more than 100 years City of Hope has led the fight against life-threatening illnesses while reaffirming our humanitarian vision that “health is a human right.” City of Hope is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people with cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses. Our team of more than 7,000 includes researchers, associates, scientists, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, graduate students, fundraising specialists, marketing professionals, volunteers and support staff. We are united by our desire to find cures and save lives. In fact, 100 million people worldwide benefit from City of Hope discoveries each year, yet we are close to you. Headquartered in Duarte - just east of Los Angeles - we have more than 35 locations across Los Angeles, Ventura, Riverside, Orange and San Bernardino counties. In July 2022, City of Hope was recognized as the seventh “Best Hospital” for cancer in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings. This is the 16th consecutive year we have been distinguished as one of the nation’s elite cancer hospitals. This achievement is a testament to the quality and care demonstrated by our extraordinary physicians, nurses, researchers, health care workers, and staff.

We have a rich history that is unparalleled. From two canvas cottages in a desert to comprehensive cancer center in 100 years, our technology has led to the development of numerous breakthrough drugs, including the four most widely used cancer treatments — Herceptin, Erbitux, Rituxan and Avastin. City of Hope’s research and ground breaking technology has led to the creation of synthetic human insulin (humulin), now used worldwide by millions of people with diabetes. Additionally, City of Hope researchers pioneered the application of gene therapy and blood stem cell transplants to treat patients with HIV and AIDS-related lymphoma.

Your gift does more than save lives, it transforms how City of Hope fights cancer. Your support makes a difference. We invite you to view the attached video to learn more about how your donations fuel City of Hope's research and treatments.
