They count on us.  We count on you. Together we can make a difference!
The money raised here stays here in our community - and Variety personally visits every organization it supports to ensure that every donation helps the most amount of children where the need is greatest.
75 Years in the making!

Variety the Children’s Charity of Southern California kicked off its 75th Anniversary with the biggest Mobility Grant in the Charity’s history.  Last September, 75 children with disabilities each received a brand new customized adaptive bike. Many of these children cannot walk on their own, so when they received a bike specially designed for their needs, their disabilities faded away and they experience the pure joy of riding a bike like any other kid.  These adaptive bikes are not covered by insurance and out of reach financially for most families. 75 Kids + 75 Adaptive Bikes = COUNTLESS Smiles!  The generous donations from LA City Employees through the Give to LA Charitable Giving Campaign is what makes events like this possible.  Thank you LA City Employees!!

WHO IS VARIETY:  Founded in 1941, Variety the Children's Charity of Southern California is dedicated to inspiring hope, enriching lives and building
a better future for the children of Southern California.  We’re one of the leading chapters of Variety International - The Children’s Charity.

WHAT DOES VARIETY DO: Variety awards over three quarters of a million dollars annually to organizations that serve Southern California area
children in the areas of Health Care, Education and Mobility.  Variety is also a major supporter of the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Boyle Heights.
Variety’s Mobility Program provides confidence, freedom, and much-needed therapeutic exercise to children with disabilities by providing specially-
designed adaptive bikes, strollers and other mobility equipment.

Variety’s Health Care Program supports organizations that provide safety, help and hope to children who are victims of abuse, neglect and
homelessness. Variety sends kids who are battling life-threatening illnesses to summer camp and provides medical care, therapy, and early intervention
programs for kids with disabilities.
Variety’s Education Program provides underprivileged children and at-risk youth the programs necessary to pursue their education and dreams and
overcome the barriers of poverty, poor performing schools and high levels of unemployment.  Education grants fund early literacy programs, college
scholarships, homework assistance, college prep, career readiness, art, music, science and technology workshops, sports and gang prevention
Since 1949, the Variety Boys & Girls Club has responded to the needs of children in the Boyle Heights/ East Los Angeles community by offering
leadership development programs, tutoring and mentoring, recreation, sports and aquatics programs, arts and crafts, a computer learning center and library,
social recreation, college scholarships, and special events to award members’ achievements and talents.  The Club is a safe haven where our children are
provided the support they need to make their dreams a reality.
